 A video of MayTree covering the official theme song of the World Choir Games Gangneung 2023, a global choir festival, has surpassed the 1-million-view mark.

Gangneung City produced a video featuring a famous a cappella group called Maytree to promote the World Choir Games, which will be held in the city from July 3 (Mon.) to 13 (Thu.) this year, and uploaded it on YouTube.

The video was filmed against the backdrop of renowned tourist attractions in Gangneung, such as Gyeongpo Reservoir, Ojukheon House, Jungang Market, and Jumunjin Lighthouse Village, and it is delighting people’s eyes with colorful cinematography and scenes of splendid natural scenery.

MayTree, the vocal group featured in the video, won a gold medal in the pop and jazz categories each at the 8th World Choir Games held in Riga, Latvia in 2014. They have a huge fan base not only in Korea but also around the world.

A Gangneung City official said, “In addition to the video of MayTree, you can see various other types of promotional content on online portals and YouTube. […] We ask for your interest in and support for the 12th World Choir Games in Gangneung.”

Meanwhile, the World Choir Games Gangneung 2023 will provide plenty of entertainment through the opening and closing ceremonies, contests, national parades, a friendship concert, a K-pop concert, and a celebratory concert among various other programs.
