Chodang, where Heo Gyun and Heo Nanseolheon, Joseon-era siblings and prominent writers,
spent their childhood, has a great pine forest ideal for walking.
The trails are beautiful enough with their verdant charm during the day,
but when night falls, the Moonlight Trail takes the visitors along a romantic walk
from the nearby Heo Gyun and Heo Nanseolheon Memorial Park.
Follow the Moonlight Trail and its soft lights and music to Gyeongpoho Lake.
Lights in the shape of cherry blossoms, pine needles, and pine cones appear and disappear,
adding a splash of fun to your night walk. The darker the night,
the more colorful and mesmerizing the lights become.
Step past the tiny lights and onto the expansive trail to find gentle lights cascading like moonlight.
A night walk at the end of the day is a great way to escape the hustle
and bustle of everyday life and step into a space for reflection.
Firefly Lights
As you walk down the trail, you may notice something
that might make you blink in surprise or stop in your tracks entirely.
This group of green lights appears like a swarm of fireflies, dancing in tune with the songs of insects.
Keep a certain distance so that you can enjoy this view as long as you can.
Then, head down toward Gyeongpoho Lake to find the highlight of the Moonlight Trail, a massive moon.
A 6 m Tall Moon Sculpture
This moon sculpture is installed beside Gyeongpoho Lake.
Its sheer size means that it is visible from far away.
This 6 m tall moon sculpture is a popular photo area.
Stand with the moon as the background to capture a great silhouette.
The Moon Rising over Gyeongpoho Lake
If you are lucky, you may find the moon rising over Gyeongpoho Lake,
the last stop on the Moonlight Trail.
The gentle moonlight rounds out the beautiful lake view in a way that vibrant lights cannot.
