• Gyeongpoho Lake in Gangneung is the most representative lagoon on the eastern coast of Korea, where the lake meets the ocean.
  Thanks to the splendid view of Gyeongpoho Lake, many trail routes are nearby to enjoy in various ways of walking or riding a bicycle.
  Gyeongpo Gasiyeonseupji Wetland, with a living and breathing ecosystem, is where you can have a leisurely walk while enjoying diverse wildflowers and birds.
  The Metasequoia Trail looks beautiful from afar, and it is a great path to walk on, enjoying the sapphire sky.

Around Gyeongpoho Lake





• Gyeongpoho Lake's circumference is about 4.3 km, and it takes a little over 1 hour to complete the track.
  Around the lake are seasonal flowers, diverse sculpture works, and birds that keep you entertained throughout your walk.
  It will also be a great experience to ride a bicycle from the nearby bicycle rental shop.

• By the lake, there is Gyeongpodae Pavilion, one of the most representative scenic points in Gangneung.

Gyeongpo Gasiyeonseupji Wetland



• “Gyeongpo Gasiyeonseupji Wetland,” created in the process of restoring Gyeongpo Wetland,
  is where you can observe diverse aspects of an ecological system.
  In this wetland, prickly waterlilies (gasiyeon in Korean) with spikey pricks on their fruits and leaves thrive.
  Around the Ecology Wetland Park, easy trails and lawns can be found.







• The wetland is home to diverse kinds of birds. You can see birds visiting Gyeongpo Gasiyeonseupji Wetland throughout the year.
  Crossing the wetland’s waterways on a ferry will give you a unique experience.

Gyeongpo Eco Reservoir_Metasequoia Trail



• Continue from Gyeongpo Gasiyeonseupji Wetland toward Ojukheon House,
  and you will encounter a splendid metasequoia trail on the opposite side of the house.
  They are street trees planted in the empty lot next to Gyeongpo Eco Reservoir to prevent flooding in rainy seasons.
  They grew so tall now to be spotted from far away.
  120 metasequoia trees line up the trail in a straight line.
  It’s a great trail to walk but an even better photo spot.
  Taking a photo on the embankment will create an amazing photo, like a movie poster.

• Lush green metasequoia trees and blue sky in summer look great,
  but leaves that turn red-brown in autumn also create a unique mood.
  The nearby field is a sea of reed, giving a proper autumn vibe.
  Gyeongpo Eco Reservoir is a great place to enjoy seasonal flowers.
  Mustard flowers bloom in April and May, poppies dance in May and June, and cosmos flowers sway in August and September,
  making the place a year-round photo zone.



• The Metasequoia Trail is easy to find if you can spot Ojukheon House.
  If you use public transport, get off at Ojukheon House Bus Stop.
  By car, it is best to park at Ojukheon House Parking.
