Reflecting its name but with the same pronunciation as “city,” this bus showcases Gangneung’s scenic coastlines and vibrant coffee culture. The fare is equivalent to that of the local city buses, and with no need for reservations, it’s accessible for anyone to enjoy the journey.
- The SEA TEA Bus connects Anmokhaebyeon Beach, the heart of Gangneung Coffee Street, with Jumunjinhaebyeon Beach, operating 16 times daily over a 23 km route. Passengers can board or alight at any stop, exploring the coastal roads, popular spots, and eateries in Gangneung. With buses running every 40 to 50 minutes, visitors have ample opportunity to explore each destination. Whether grabbing a coffee, enjoying seaside views from the bus, or hopping on and off at various famous tourist locations, thoughtful planning enables the exploration of five to six tourist spots in a single day. Cold Raw Fish Soup - Starting at Anmokhaebyeon Beach, home to Gangneung Coffee Street, you’re invited to immerse yourself in a caffeinated paradise with numerous cafés overlooking the sea. Here, grabbing a coffee to go allows you to transform the SEA TEA Bus into your personal café on wheels. Venture to Sacheon Mulhoe Village to taste mulhoe(cold raw fish soup), a delightful dish blending sweet and spicy sauce with a refreshing broth brimming with seafood. For those craving a broader seafood selection, the Jumunjin Fish Market is a must-visit, offering the freshest catches from the East Sea. This dual experience promises double the pleasure for food enthusiasts.
- Gangneung’s picturesque coastlines have captured the hearts of TV show and film audiences alike. For fans of Guardian: The Lonely and Great God, there’s a café at one of the filming locations where you can rent props for a photo op with any beverage purchase. Arm yourself with a bundle of buckwheat flowers and a red scarf to channel the essence of the show’s beloved characters. Alternatively, explore Sodol Embankment, a key location from The Glory, situated near Sodol Park.
- The journey’s end at Jumunjinhaebyeon Beach introduces you to the famed BTS Bus Stop, located near Hanghohaebyeon Beach. Purple bench - Gangneung is celebrated for its pine forests, which beautifully adorn the coastline, offering a mesmerizing pine forest trail adjacent to the sea. The prime locations for a rejuvenating walk include the stretch between Songjeonghaebyeon Beach and Gangmunhaebyeon Beach, as well as the Yeongok Pine Trail. These paths offer the unique experience of walking to the soothing sounds of the waves while inhaling the phytoncide emitted by the pine trees, blending the therapeutic essence of the sea and forest.
- Take city bus 223-1 or 314-1 from the bus stop across Gangneung Station heading toward Anmokhaebyeon Beach, and disembark at the terminus (20 minutes).
- Take city bus 302-1 or 314-1 from the bus stop in front of the Terminal to Anmokhaebyeon Beach, and disembark at the terminus (30 minutes).
