Among the globally rising popularity of Korean strawberries, Gangneung strawberries stand out for their exceptional sweetness and juiciness. It’s no wonder that during the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics, foreign athletes couldn’t stop talking about the incredible flavor of Gangneung strawberries. Embark on a K-Strawberry journey where you can pick fresh strawberries directly from the farm and indulge in unique strawberry desserts found nowhere else.



• In early spring, strawberry farms in Yeongok-myeon and Sacheon-myeon, Gangneung, are bustling with activity. During the season, they sell freshly harvested strawberries every morning. Some farms even offer strawberry-picking experiences, allowing visitors to pick and taste strawberries themselves. Most farms use smart farming systems that automatically control temperature and humidity, ensuring the production of high-quality strawberries in a comfortable environment.



• Visitors receive a brief introduction from the farm owner on how to pick strawberries before heading to the farm to harvest them. They can explore the vast strawberry farm, take photos, admire the strawberry blossoms, and enjoy the fun of picking ripe strawberries one by one.



• The farm entrance is decorated charmingly like a café, creating a relaxing atmosphere for visitors to take their time. Visitors can sip a drink while enjoying the view of the strawberry fields or try simple hands-on activities using strawberries as ingredients. The farm also features a small playroom for children and a photo zone, both popular with families.



• Various ingredients are provided for the hands-on experience. Upon registration, participants receive everything needed to make strawberry cake, strawberry croffle, and strawberry fondue, which they can enjoy right there on the spot.



• Strawberry fondue is especially fun to decorate according to personal preference. It is a great experience to share with family and friends but also enjoyable for solo visitors. By the end of the session, you’ll be surrounded by the sweet scent of strawberries—a truly delightful way to welcome spring.



• If the strawberry-picking experience has made you fall in love with strawberries, it’s time to try some special desserts. A strawberry café on the farm creates desserts made with freshly harvested strawberries, offering a taste of true farm-to-table freshness.



• The café’s signature dish, “Strawberry Thread Shaved Ice,” features soft strawberry milk-flavored ice delicately shaped like fine threads. A spoonful of fresh strawberry and thread-like ice delivers a refreshing and tangy burst of flavor, making it hard to resist taking another bite.



• This is a dessert paradise with strawberry-based treats, including the Strawberry Sandwich, which contains whole strawberries between bread and fresh cream, Strawberry Sorbet made with pure strawberry juice, Strawberry Latte, and Strawberry Yogurt Smoothie. The café is cozy and intimate, so be prepared to wait in line on weekends.
