Jumunjin Port is one of the key ports on the east coast, being home to about 350 fishing boats. Due to the characteristic of the East Sea, where the cold and warm currents meet, some of the main types of edible sea creatures caught here are squid, Korean sandlance, and pollack. People can obtain raw fish fresh from the boat at affordable prices.

• 8-39, Hyangho-ri, Jumunjin-eup, Gangneung-si

This is a bus stop on the beach that was featured in a photo on the album booklet of BTS, who became the first K-pop artist to top the Billboard’s album chart. It has become a popular photo spot for BTS fans from all over the world and is fast-emerging as a unique attraction at Hyangho Beach and Jumunjin Beach.

• 330, Gyeongpo-ro, Gangneung-si

Gyeongpo Lake is famous for the gorgeous cherry blossoms in spring. If you walk along the beautiful promenade adjacent to the sea that stretches for 4 km, you will be able to see a stunning sight of migratory birds swimming leisurely on the water and fantastic sculptures along the trail.

• 514, Changhae-ro, Gangneung-si

This is a beautiful beach that welcomes visitors all year round with its splendid scenery and an unobstructed view of the vast sea. The 6km white sandy beach that contrasts with the endless stretches of the deep blue sea presents a spectacular sight.

• 211, Gyeonggang-ro, Gangneung-si

This is a 2.6km trail that starts at Gangneung Station and runs along the abandoned railroad traversing the city. Sculptures found along the street and rustic alleyways that have retained traces of history emanate a unique atmosphere.

• 17, Changhae-ro, Gangneung-si

This is a street with coffee shops of various sizes along Anmok Beach. You can enjoy high-quality coffee while enjoying a panoramic ocean view at any cafe.

• 950-39, Heonhwa-ro, Gangdong-myeon, Gangneung-si

This is a 2.86km coastal trail connecting Jeongdongjin and Simgok Port. It is the only coastal terrace area in Korea designated that has been designated as a natural monument (Natural Monument No. 437). It has been named “Badabuchaegil” because it is spread out like a handheld fan (“buchae”) toward the sea.

• 17, Jeongdongyeok-gil, Gangdong-myeon, Gangneung-si

This is a rail bike ride between Jeongdongjin Station, a train station that is the closest to the sea in the world, and Moraesigye (Hourglass) Park. You can enjoy the refreshing view of the sea throughout the entire trip comfortably, as you won’t have to do any work since it is powered by electricity.

It is the one and only arboretum with a pine theme in Korea. Choose a trail such as the forest ecology observation trail and the botanical garden trail and enjoy stunning scenery in any season.

• San 716, Daegi-ri, Wangsan-myeon, Gangneung-si

This is a trail lined with some 3,000 stone towers along the foot of Nochusan Mountain. Many people come here to build a stone tower and make a wish.
