Infinite Possibilities of Gangneung where Business,Culture and Tourism meet.
-As domestic flights resume in 82 days, free shuttle buses will run the route twice daily on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays.-
As domestic flights are set to resume at Yangyang International Airport in nearly three months, Gangneung City has restarted the operation of airport circular buses from July 1.
To position Yangyang as a prime tourism destination, a circular free shuttle bus service at Yangyang International Airport has been introduced. This service, aimed at fostering connections with neighboring cities and counties, is anticipated to enhance transportation for users and invigorate Yangyang International Airport.
Recently at Yangyang International Airport, Hi-Airlines commenced flights on the Yangyang-Kimpo route from the 9th (Wed) last month, and Aero K began operations on the Yangyang-Cheongju route from the 11th (Fri) of the same month.
Consequently, the free circular shuttle buses at Yangyang International Airport have been scheduled in line with the airport's domestic flight timetables. The buses will run once a day between Gangneung Station and Yangyang International Airport, and twice on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays, totaling 10 runs per week.
The free shuttle buses operate between KTX Gangneung Station and Yangyang International Airport, stopping at the Gangneung Sports Complex en route. Passengers can use this service on a first-come, first-served basis without needing a reservation. For further details, please refer to the 'Notice' section on the Gangneung City Hall homepage.
A public official from Gangneung City Hall stated, “With an anticipated rise in tourists using Yangyang International Airport and as domestic regular flights are scheduled, coupled with new international routes opening in the near future, we plan to increase the number of free shuttle buses.” The official further added, “The Gangneung City Government will actively collaborate to bolster the operations of Yangyang International Airport.
